Stoddard?
I grew up in Jacksonville, Florida. I graduated from Edward H. White High School (PTL!). A few years later I joined the United States Army. As an Infantryman, I spent a lot of time outside. It was in these year that I became a man. I learned how to lead in the crucible of military training. Teamwork was an important part of my development as a leader. While in the Army, I met Jeana June Barnett. I proposed to her in Luxembourg. We became great friends and romantics. We were married and moved from Germany to El Paso, Texas. We love coffee, Mexican food, and just spending time together doing nothing. I became a follower of Jesus Christ in 1988. I was baptized and have followed Jesus for over 20 years. In the third year of our marriage, I sensed a call to ministry. Jeana (a pastor’s daughter) said “I’ll never marry a preacher.” Well God took care of that. He called me to the ministry. Having not grown up in church, I needed help. I got out of the Army and went to Southwestern Seminary (MDIV). I am finishing DMIN work at Gordon-Conwell Seminary. I am studying with the greatest preaching mind of this generation, Dr. Haddon W. Robinson. I am now writing my doctoral project on “Connecting the Sermon to the Small Group.” Our special blessing is our daughter. Bri is a slice of heaven on earth. She’s a great witness for the Lord. We like to swing and feed the ducks. My focus in ministry is at the Cornerstone Baptist Church in Arlington, Texas, where Dwight McKissic is the Senior Pastor. I am the Executive Pastor.
